Overview
ToPaste is a clipboard manager for macOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data ToPaste accesses and how it is handled.
Data Collection
ToPaste does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with us or any third party. Specifically:
- We do not use any analytics or tracking services.
- We do not collect crash reports automatically.
- We do not have access to your clipboard content.
Local Data Storage
All clipboard history data (text, images, links, files) is stored locally on your Mac using Core Data. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud Sync.
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud Sync, your clipboard history is synced across your Mac devices via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit). This data is encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest. ToPaste does not operate any servers that process your clipboard data.
iCloud User ID
ToPaste uses your anonymous iCloud User ID solely for the following purposes:
- To prevent free trial abuse across devices.
- To verify license key activation.
This ID is an opaque identifier provided by Apple and cannot be used to identify you personally.
License Verification
If you activate ToPaste with a license key, the key and your anonymous device identifier are sent to our server (api.topaste.com) for verification. No other data is transmitted.
App Store Purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. ToPaste does not have access to your payment information.
Third-Party Services
ToPaste does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Children's Privacy
ToPaste is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
